I cant pay my taxes, what should I do?

Well, its tax season and I find myself with the same problem as last year. I work as an Independent Contractor, so I file a 10-99 form instead of a W-2. Anyways, I made a pitiful $12,000 last year, and they're trying to tell me that I owe more than $2,000 in taxes and penalties. I mean, it could be half that and I'd still have nowhere near enough money to pay it. So anyways, this will be the second year in a row I've failed to do my taxes. Not just failed to do them on time, but failed to do anything at all. Whats going to happen to me? I mean, im sure I'll be in debt my whole life, but whatever, so are most people, right?
